Deputies: Father shoots son in altercation

Deputies responded to the scene of a shooting Thursday on Leonard Road, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office.

The father shot the son in the leg with a .22-caliber rifle during a dispute, authorities said.

The son refused treatment and signed a complaint withdrawal stating he would not testify as the victim in the incident.

The injuries are non-life threatening.
