CHARLOTTE — On Wednesday, Charlotte Douglas International Airport is expecting the busiest travel day since the pandemic began in March.
More than 17,000 travelers are expected to fly out of Charlotte Wednesday. That’s just a fraction of what we’ve seen in years past, but it was still proving to be somewhat of a busy morning.
JUST IN: @TSA screened 912,090 individuals at airport checkpoints nationwide yesterday, Tuesday, Nov. 24. One week earlier, on Tuesday, Nov. 17, TSA screened 611,497 people across the country. One year ago, on Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, 2,435,170 people were screened.

The CDC is advising against traveling for the holiday, but it was apparent that that guidance was not stopping many people from seeing their loved ones.
