• Detectives: Altercation may have led to early-morning shooting


    CHARLOTTE - Police are investigating an early Saturday morning shooting at the 6900 block of Hidden Forest Drive.

    Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at 4:16 a.m. Saturday, saying one person had been shot.

    They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Medic pronounced him dead on the scene. The victim’s identity will not be released until his family is notified.

    According to a release from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, detectives have determined the victim and known suspects had an altercation Friday evening. The suspects then drove to where the victim was staying to continue the argument. One of the suspects shot the victim, and the suspects fled the scene by vehicle.
