Detectives investigate rash of car break-ins in Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a rash of break-ins in an area off Highway 150, east of Boger City.

Investigators said residents on Queens Drive, Royal Drive, Arden Drive and Prince Drive reported on Thursday morning that someone had entered their unlocked vehicles. Vehicle break-ins were also reported on Wednesday morning by residents on Fernwood Drive and Briarwood Road, the sheriff’s office said.

In each case, the vehicles were unlocked, investigators said.

The sheriff's office said in an Oct. 21 vehicle break-in on Old Mill Road, which is nearby, a surveillance camera recorded someone searching through a vehicle. In that case, electronic items, cash and checkbooks were stolen, investigators said.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked the call the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at 704-736-8856 or Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909.
