Discovery Place in uptown reopens after closing for 6 months due to COVID-19

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One of Charlotte’s most popular family attractions has been closed for six months because of the coronavirus pandemic. But Discovery Place in uptown is finally open again.

The museum invited its members to a special opening this weekend. It will be open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays beginning Sept. 26.

With so many interactive exhibits, the museum had to make some changes.

“It means, especially for them, getting back to normal, getting out of the house again, and being able to do the stuff that they love,” said visitor Omega Butia.
