DOT: Flyover bridge near Concord Mills to relieve traffic

Department of Transportation crews wrapped up initial tests for a major construction project expected to cut down traffic near Concord Mills.

A two-lane bridge is expected to run from Interstate 85 at Exit 49 to the mall's first entrance.

The $7 million project would replace the left-turn lanes currently there.

Construction is planned over three seasons and is expected to begin in the fall of 2018.
