Drones may start delivering food to North Carolina town

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — People who live in one central North Carolina town might get their next pizza delivered by a drone.

The Federal Aviation Administration approved a company's plan to deliver food along a specific route in Holly Springs, near Raleigh, according to our news partners WTVD.

The drone service will be operated by Flytrex and Causey Aviation Unmanned.

They do not have a start date yet.

Last year, a drone started delivering medical supplies to Wake-MED in Raleigh.

The drone carries vials of water from an office building straight to the hospital.
