Fall color comes to the High Country

WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. — Cooler weather brought out the fall colors this week in the North Carolina High School.

Grandfather Mountain sent Eyewitness News photographs from along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The best color can be seen at elevations 3,500 feet and above.

At the top of Grandfather Mountain, the temperature fell into the low 30s Wednesday morning.

This weekend is expected to be one of the busiest this year with several events and festivals in Watauga and Avery counties.
