CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jay Little presented Mooresville police Officer Jordan Sheldon's family a nearly $13,000 check Monday.
Sheldon, who was 32 years old, was killed last month during a traffic stop on West Plaza Drive.
Lincoln County set up the GoFundMe account in hopes to raise $500.
In two weeks, it raised more than $12,865.

“I did this with the intention of helping during their most difficult time and allowing Officer Sheldon’s family to do something in his memory,” Little said. “If there was something he wanted to do, I hope that this allows them to do it for him as a family.”
Sheldon was with the Mooresville Police Department for six years.
