Deputies say 2 missing Mooresville teens found safe

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Law enforcement in Iredell County said two missing teenagers have been found safe.

Deputies and family members were searching for Santiago Lopez, 16, and Olivia Dison, 13.

Authorities believe the teenagers ran away together Wednesday. They have not said where they found the teens.

Family members of both teenagers say they just want them home safe.

“They can’t drive. It’s cold and rainy out. I don’t know if they are on foot or bikes or where they would be staying,” said Holly Lipsom, Dison’s cousin.

Lopez’s mother was in tears, wondering where he could be.

“He doesn’t have a cell phone on him or anything we could contact on him. He definitely doesn’t have enough money to keep himself fed and warm,” said Luz Westmoreland.

Lopez was last seen after school Monday afternoon. He’s run away before, but that was by himself.

Lopez’s stepfather hopes the social media attention will lead to someone having seen them.

The families want the teens to know they can come home.

“We will come get you, no questions asked. You can come to our house. We just want you safe,” said Westmoreland. “Nobody’s mad at him. Whatever it is, we can work through it. We just want him home.”
