Family of slain corrections officer wants killer caught

CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte family is pleading to the public for answers three days after their loved one was shot and killed.

Police have not made any arrests in the murder of corrections officer Bias Easley.

The 27-year-old was gunned down outside his apartment Thursday evening a High Meadow Condos on Farmhurst Drive.

Police have not said much about his murder.

But his family told Eyewitness News Easley was a family man who had aspirations of one day becoming a sheriff's deputy.

He was about to get married and has three children.

His family wants his killer caught.

"Just imagine yourself being in the shoes of what we're going through," says family member Seeta Cox.

Easley was shot outside his apartment complex in broad daylight.

If you know anything about the crime, call police.
