Fire damages soul food restaurant in downtown Norwood

NORWOOD, N.C. — Officials in Stanly County are investigating a three-alarm fire that broke out early Wednesday morning at a popular restaurant in downtown Norwood.

The fire was reported at about 6:30 a.m. at Fat Backs Soul Food & BBQ on North Main Street. Most of the damage happened to the back of the business.

North Main Street was closed when firefighters were on scene.

The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined.

Firefighters from three departments managed to get the fire under control quickly. No injuries were reported.
