• Family displaced after east Charlotte house fire


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Firefighters battled a house fire in east Charlotte Wednesday morning.

    Chopper 9 flew over the scene of the two-story house on Doris Avenue.

    Heavy smoke could be seen billowing from the roof.

    Firefighters were positioned on the roof working to contain the fire.

    Officials said nobody was hurt in the fire, but a family was displaced.

    There is no word on how much damage the fire caused.
