Firefighters battle house fire Friday night

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It took firefighters 21 minutes to bring a fire on Oakdale Road under control Friday night.

The fire broke out at a home at 2108 Oakdale Road around 9 p.m. A neighbor sent WSOC-TV a photograph of the fire.

Twenty-three firefighters responded to the call.

One person was inside the home at the time, but was able to get outside on her own. No one was injured.

Firefighters said the fire may have started in the sunroom and then spread to the attic. Most of the fire damage is in the attic and the house has heavy smoke damage.

Firefighters said the cause of the fire has not been determined and they’re not sure if it is weather-related.

Officials said they did not have trouble getting to the fire because of the roads.
