• Firefighters: House fire in northeast Charlotte appears suspicious

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Investigators are working to find out how a vacant home caught fire Wednesday morning in northeast Charlotte.

    Firefighters were called out to the 1900 block of Olsen Lane, near University City Boulevard, around 7 a.m.

    A Charlotte Fire Department chief said the fire was in two rooms in the back of the house and investigators said the fire appears to be suspicious.

    Police were canvassing the neighborhood to see if anyone saw anything.
