First phase of local casino project could cost $100M

KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. — More details have emerged about the Catawba Indian Nation’s casino and resort development in Kings Mountain. The groundbreaking ceremony for that project was held last week.

At that ceremony, Brian Hansberry, president of gaming for the tribe’s casino operator, Delaware North, said a temporary, smaller first phase of the development will open in late spring or early summer of 2021.
