School delays:
- Avery County Schools will operate on a two-hour on Friday.
FORECAST:
- More rain is on the way Thursday night, mostly before 3 a.m.
- The heaviest of the showers will be south of Charlotte.
- It will be cloudy into Friday morning before the skies gradually clear up.
- Highs on Friday will be 47.
- Some clouds will linger through the weekend.
- Highs on Saturday will be in the low-40s and on Sunday, in the low-50s.
- Clear skies return next week.
