• Former ASU football player sues school in effort to clear name

BOONE, N.C. - A former football player at Appalachian State University is suing the school in an effort to clear his name.

In 2011, a female student accused Lanston Tanyi and another football player of raping her. He was suspended, but a disciplinary hearing cleared Tanyi of wrong-doing and he was allowed to return to school -- but was banned from the football team.
