• Former officer accused of assaulting woman given new court date

    HICKORY, N.C. - A former Hickory police officer accused of slamming a woman to the ground was supposed to make his first court appearance Friday.

    Instead, a judge moved Robery George's new court date to June 2.

    Investigators said George attacked Chelsea Doolittle during a fight about how she parked her car.

    He is charged with assault.

    The police department fired him after the accusations in January.

    Doolittle is charged with resisting arrest.
