Fort Bragg community shows support after troops deployed overseas

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — More than 6,500 troops have been deployed to the Middle East from Fort Bragg in the last five days, officials said.

Some service members and their families had little notice they were going to be sent overseas.

“At first, I was upset and sad for them, and then I realized they are trained to do a job,” military wife Carmen Albertson said Wednesday in Fayetteville. “They are trained to defend, and I say let them do their job.”
