Fundraiser for slain officer's family held Saturday

A fundraiser is being held Saturday for the family of a fallen U.S. Forest Service officer.

Jason Crisp was shot and killed in March in Burke County. He spent 10 years with the U.S. Forestry Division.

Deputies and police are holding a golf tournament in his honor.

"It's sad and you can't help but think about what happened, but at the same time, you know Jason is looking down and smiling that everybody's being taken care of," Bryon Crisp, Jason Crisp's brother, said.

Channel 9 did an exclusive interview with Crisp's wife a month after he was killed.

She said it's been difficult for the family to move on.

She said she's trying to come to terms with what happened knowing he will never walk back through the door.
