Gaston Co. police seize 1.5 kilos of meth in traffic stop

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — The Gaston County Police Department pulled over a car Wednesday and seized about 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, according to a news release from the department.
 
Officers conducted the traffic stop about 9 a.m. on Interstate 85 and brought in a K-9 unit. The dog sniffed out the narcotics, located in a hidden compartment.

Police arrested and charged Juan Lopez of Houston, Texas, and Gabriela Garcia and Benito Hernandez, both of Winston-Salem, with several drug-related offenses.
