Gaston County EMS crews administer in-home vaccine shots to those in need

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — There’s a new effort in Gaston County to make sure everyone who is eligible can get vaccinated, even those who can’t leave their homes.

EMS crews in the county are delivering shots right to people’s front doors. They have 1,200 doses to give out by Sunday.

They rely on referrals from churches, charities and social services to identify those who are least likely to get to mass vaccination clinics.
