Gaston County pharmacy co-owner concerned over lack of people vaccinated

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A Gastonia pharmacy has given away about half of its supply of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to other stores because demand for it is so low.

Otherwise, the doses would have to be shipped back to the federal government.

“We are doing maybe five or 10 a day, but we need to be doing 100 a day,” said Don Thrower, co-owner of Medical Center Pharmacy on Cox Road.
