Heat doesn't deter Speed Street fans

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Saturday is the last day of the Speed Street festival in Uptown Charlotte and race fans are having to contend with temperatures hitting the mid-90s.

MEDIC said it had responded to five heat-related emergency calls on Saturday, but many people who spoke with Channel 9 said they didn’t want to miss this annual tradition – despite the heat.
