• Troopers: 1 killed after crashing into utility pole in Lancaster

    LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. - South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a deadly overnight accident.

    Troopers told Channel 9 that one person died in a crash on Potter Road near Shiloh Unity Road around 12:45 a.m. The coroner's office identified the driver as 19-year-old Steve Albert.

    Troopers said Albert was driving a 2000 Mazda Miata north on Potters Road when he ran off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole and a tree.

    Albert was ejected and died at the scene, according to troopers.
