Home goes up in flames overnight in Marshville

MARSHVILLE, N.C. — Fire destroyed a home overnight in Marshville, officials told Channel 9.

The house on Park Drive caught fire around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and it took firefighters from three different departments more than an hour to put the flames out.

The house was deemed a total loss at approximately $60,000. A vehicle was also damaged in the fire.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire and the person who lives there will be staying with relatives.

Investigators said the fire was accidental and are still working to determine how it started.
