Home total loss after fire in Bessemer City

BESSEMER CITY, N.C. — A home was a total loss Friday night after a fire, according to a news release from Crowder's Mountain Fire & Rescue.

Crowder's Mountain assisted Bessemer City Fire Department and Tryonota Volunteer Fire Department. The fire was called in at 8:38 p.m. at 713 A St. in Bessemer City.

Crews arrived on the scene and witnessed a one-story residential structure with smoke coming from the rear of the home.

Firefighters found two rooms and the attic of the home fully involved with fire. Crews battled the flames until the blaze was extinguished in 20 minutes.

A total of 30 personnel were on the scene.

No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported.

Due to the heavy damage caused by the fire, the structure is a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Gaston County Fire Investigations Task Force.
