Homebuilders TRI Pointe Homes and Taylor Morrison Home Corp. recently closed on land at Farmington, a master-planned development at Interstate 485 and Rocky River Road that straddles Charlotte and Harrisburg. TRI Pointe will build 36 single-family homes and 112 townhouses on the project’s north side, and Taylor Morrison will develop 135 townhouses on its east side. The first model units will deliver next fall or winter.

In addition, apartment developer Woodfield Investments is under contract to purchase a tract within Farmington.

At buildout, Farmington will include: a Village Center with retail, medical and general office space; an event lawn; for-sale and rental housing; and a hotel.
