House approves naming building after fallen forest officer

NEBO, N.C. — A ranger station could soon honor a North Carolina forest officer killed in the line of duty.

The House unanimously passed a bill to designate the Nebo station the Jason Crisp Forest Service Building.

Crisp and his K-9 partner Maros were shot and killed by Troy Whisnant during a manhunt in March.

The bill still has to be approved by the Senate.
