IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Support for an Iredell County seventh-grader battling brain cancer is growing by the hour.
On Monday, wsoctv.com created a Twitter hashtag for Matthew Bailey's top 10 list with all of his dreams.
Ashley Winecoff commented on Facebook, "Get well soon Matthew Bailey we love you and your in our prayers."
"I love this kid!!! I hope you get your coach K wish!! Praying for you," ChrisMichelle DePriest posted on Facebook.
Our tweets were re-tweeted more than 1,200 times and favorited more than 280 times.
Matthew's pastor hopes the exposure will encourage the community to grant all of his wishes.
Community works to fulfill wish list for teen fighting brain cancer
A social media movement is wrapping its virtual arms around Matthew, who was suddenly diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.
"(He) started radiation last week, started oral chemo today and they are going to get after it and see if they can shrink this thing," said Watermark Church Pastor Joel Settle.
With support from his pastor, Matthew's church is rallying the community.
Classmates at Northview IB in Statesville are dressing in solidarity and what seems like all of Iredell County is spreading the word online to get the hashtag #Top10ForMatt trending.
The list is the young sports fan's wish list to keep him inspired on his medical journey.
"This is all about Matthew, so we're trying to do all we can to embrace him, encourage him and support him through this," said Settle.
Lowe's Home Improvement is sending him to the Final Four this weekend in Dallas with his dad, checking off one of his top 10.
