2 suspects used Letgo app to rob man at gunpoint in Huntersville, police say

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Huntersville police said they caught two suspects accused of using the Letgo app to rob a man.

Officers responded to an armed robbery Wednesday where the victim said he was going to purchase a PlayStation 4 from the suspects through the Letgo app.

The victim said he gave the suspects his home address and when they came to make the exchange, the suspects robbed him and shot their gun into the air.

The victim was not hurt during the robbery.

After investigating, detectives were about to locate the suspects through the Letgo app. Officials scheduled a purchase with them and the suspects were arrested Thursday afternoon.

After searching the suspect’s car, authorities said they found a gun that had been reported stolen in Monroe.

Jashwin Wilson, 18, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon – gun and possession of a stolen firearm.

Noah Tuffour, 18, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon – gun and possession of a stolen firearm. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and Huntersville police are investigating if Wilson and Tuffour are responsible for other robberies in Charlotte.
