Hyundai stolen from couple displaced after apartment fire

CHARLOTTE — A Charlotte couple suffered another loss less than a week after a massive fire destroyed their apartment.

Now they say someone has stolen their Hyundai.

Leonard Gunter and Erica Whitted said the incident occurred while staying at a hotel along South Tryon Street near Nations Ford Road.

The couple is staying at the hotel after they were evacuated from their apartment at the Whitehall Estates because of a fire.

Saturday night, Whitted said the car was stolen after the windows were smashed out.
