MINT HILL, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation said state traffic engineers studied a road in front of an elementary school in Mint Hill and have come up with a list of improvements.

Back in February, Channel 9 investigated parents’ complaints that drivers were using the right turn lane to avoid traffic along Lebanon Road outside Lebanon Road Elementary School.
Parents said drivers are getting dangerously close to children, and they’re concerned a child could get seriously hurt or killed.
In the video above, Channel 9’s Blaine Tolison lays out what changes could be coming to the road if the project receives funding.
