CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Drivers will be inconvenienced by a new phase of the Independence Boulevard widening project Tuesday.
It was supposed to start Monday night, but rainy weather postponed it.
Crews will start closing the inbound lanes of Independence Boulevard near Conference Drive nightly starting at 9 p.m.
Also, the outbound side will be reduced to one lane.
The closures are expected to continue into next week, and will be followed by more at different parts of the highway.
