Industrial accident kills worker at Siemens plant in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — The North Carolina Department of Labor is investigating an industrial accident that left a worker dead in Charlotte on Wednesday.

Officials confirmed to Channel 9 that the Occupational Safety and Health division was notified about a worker’s death at the Siemens plant on Westinghouse Boulevard.

According to a police report, it happened just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, and the Charlotte Fire Department responded to the incident. It’s not clear what led to the worker’s death at this time.

The worker hasn’t been publicly identified, but a police report said he was a 27-year-old man.
