Ku Klux Klan fliers show up in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Residents in a predominantly black North Charleston neighborhood say fliers claiming to be from the Ku Klux Klan have showed up in the past week.

Multiple media outlets reports the fliers from the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan showed up last week in the Dorchester Waylyn community.

Neighborhood association president Jesse Williams said the woman who brought him the flier she found did not see who placed it on her car. But she said a white truck with a Confederate flag in the back had been in the neighborhood about that time.

The fliers appeared less than three weeks after nine people were shot to death at a historic black church in downtown Charleston. A 21-year-old white man has been charged in the shootings.
