Lincoln Co. man charged with statutory rape of 13-year-olds

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A Lincoln County man was arrested Thursday on statutory rape charges.
 
Detective Dan Renn arrested Jesus Martinez Moreno, 40, of 2546 Teague Street, Lincolnton, on two felony counts of statutory rape/sexual offense of a 13-, 14-, or 15-year-old.
 
Police said the incidents, which involved two girls, occurred in May and September of 2013 at a residence in western Lincoln County.  Both girls were 13 years old and knew Moreno, police said.
 
Moreno was arrested without incident and taken before a Lincoln County magistrate on Thursday.  He was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under an $80,000 secured bond.
