Lincoln County burglars caught on surveillance video

LINCOLNTON, NC — The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is working to learn who was behind burglaries at four businesses on Business Highway 16 North in one night.

Deputies released surveillance video that shows the crooks at work.

Investigators say it started with an alarm call from Pomodoro’s Restaurant around 2:20 a.m. When deputies arrived, they found the front door had been smashed in with a large rock.

Then, deputies discovered Mazatlan Restaurant and Pomodoro’s Restaurnat on Natalie Commons Drive, and The Red Barn Marketplace and the Silver Grill on Business Highway 16 North had also been broken into.

“I just don't know how people can go to sleep at night thinking that they are doing that to other people," Kim Seagle, with The Red Barn, said.

They didn't touch any of the items in the antique store but Seagle hopes they noticed some of them.

"Maybe they saw some of the scriptures that are on the signs here,” Seagle said about her family’s store. “Maybe that will change their perspective."

Seagle said there is an eerie feeling at the store.

"Kind of feel like they have been in your place and they shouldn't have been,” Seagle said. “And you are kind of looking around the corners making sure nobody's here, and they haven't left the doors unlocked to come back."

It's estimated the burglars spent about two minutes in each location. A safe was taken from Pomodoro’s Restaurant.

One suspect was wearing a red hoodie with dark sweatpants with white stripes on the side, white shoes, a toboggan, and a bandana covering the face.  The other suspect was wearing a red jacket with dark pants and shoes.  The suspect also had a dark colored hat with a white stripe and a pompom on top.
