Local road construction projects begin Monday

CHARLOTTE — The North Carolina Department of Transportation will be busy in March working on several construction projects.

Starting Monday, the DOT will close the corner of Trade and Davidson Streets in uptown Charlotte at 9 a.m. Crews are working on utility relocation for the Lynx Gold Line Project. Detours will be in place, but drivers can expect delays.

In northwest Charlotte crews will close Marlene Street and Cheshire Avenue at Freedom Drive. The roads are not expected to reopen until next month. Crews will be working on a median as part of a widening project. The roads will shut down starting at 9 a.m. Monday.
