A look at Mecklenburg County’s priciest home sales in December

CHARLOTTE — An estate in Charlotte’s SouthPark area that sold for almost $4.9 million on Dec. 20 logged in as the most-expensive home sale not only for Mecklenburg County that month but also for the greater region for all of 2019.

Located in the Deering Oaks subdivision, that brick home on Richardson Drive traded for $4.85 million — a little more than three years after it last sold for $4.6 million in November 2016, according to Mecklenburg County property records.

The home has nearly 12,000 square feet between two floors and a basement, including six bedrooms as well as six full and two half bathrooms, according to Canopy MLS data. It also boasts an elevator and outdoors, it has a fireplace and in-ground pool.

The property has a three-car garage attached to the home in addition to a two-car detached garage with a separate living space housing about 800 square feet and another full bathroom.

It was built in 2006 and sits on a 1.13-acre lot.
