Man charged in connection with Charlotte bank robbery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department charged Michael Keith Hall, 56, in connection with a robbery of the First Citizens Bank.
 
On Friday around 4:03 p.m., Hall entered the First Citizens Bank, at 6709 N. Tryon St.  He handed a note to a teller demanding money, according to police. 
 
After receiving the money, Hall fled the scene on foot, police said. 
 
A citizen flagged down officers and told them the suspect was hiding behind his home on Hampton Way.  Officers found and arrested Hall. 
 
Hall was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
