Woman charged with murder after Gaston Co. man found dead in home

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Police charged a woman with the murder of a Gaston County man who was found dead inside his home.

Officers responded just before 7 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a suspicious death at a home on Old Spencer Mountain Road near Dallas.

When officers got there, they found 36-year-old Jacob Scott Stroupe dead, according to police.

Gaston County police identified the suspect, 30-year-old Brandy Kachelle Wilson. Police said Wilson and Stroupe were previously in a relationship and had two children together.

After speaking with the Gaston County District Attorney’s Office, county police arrested and charged Wilson with first-degree murder. She is being held in the Gaston County Jail with no bond, pending her first court appearance.
