• Victim identified in east Charlotte homicide


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Police said they are investigating a homicide in east Charlotte near Albemarle Road Park.

    Officers said they were called to the 7000 block of Snow Lane just before 10 a.m. Thursday for an assault with a deadly weapon. They said when they arrived, they found a man shot to death inside an apartment in the Heritage Park Apartments complex.

    Police identified the victim as Zhonton Zhavet Berry, 27. 

    Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood to try to find witnesses.

    Police said the investigation is still in the early stages. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-432-TIPS.
