Man pleads guilty to gunfire near York County Muslim compound

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A York County man has pleaded guilty to firing a gun near a Muslim neighborhood.

Eyewitness News' partner The Rock Hill Herald reported that 37-year-old Joshua Allan Casey pleaded guilty Wednesday to firing a gun and public disorderly conduct. He was fined about $500.

Casey had been arrested after a shooting Dec. 21 in the Islamville community northeast of York.

Residents had called sheriff's deputies after hearing gunshots and someone yelling racial slurs.

Deputies found Casey nearby and arrested him. He denied the charges at the time.

Casey said Wednesday he has no problem with his neighbors. He did not elaborate.
