Man tracks down car hours after it was stolen in uptown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man took matters into his own hands when his car was stolen on Wednesday afternoon in uptown Charlotte.

Terrell Fisher told police that he left his car running while he dropped his toddler off at the babysitter on North Alexander Street.

When he went back outside, his car was gone.

After he called police, Fisher called his girlfriend, who was able to help him track his car to Wilkinson Boulevard three hours later.

Officers followed the car to a parking lot near Sharon Amity Road and Central Avenue, and arrested at least two people.

The names of the suspects have not been released.

“They stole my baby's car seat, my baby's tablet, took my phone, but hey man, I'm still alive. Still got my baby back,” said Fisher.

It's not clear what charges the car thieves could face.
