• Man wearing Panthers hat robs Charlotte bank, police say


    Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking for help identifying a man who they said robbed a Wood Forest Bank Friday afternoon inside a south Charlotte Walmart.

    The man wearing a Carolina Panthers hat went into the Wood Forest Bank on South Tryon Street, passed a note to the teller demanding money and then fled the scene after receiving some cash.



    He’s described as a tall black man with short hair, about 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 180 pounds, and was last seen wearing a gray jogging suit. Police said he was also seen carrying a blue bag with him.
