• Man with AR-15 in custody after possible arson

    MORGANTON, N.C. - Deputies and firefighters are investigating a possible arson in Morganton.

    The fire broke out Monday morning on Idlewild Drive.

    Channel 9 reporter Dave Faherty was first to report the news on Twitter.

    When deputies arrived at the scene, they said a man had an AR-15 and another gun.

    They said the man had fired shots inside the home, but nobody was hurt.

    Deputies were able to get the man to surrender his weapons, but the mobile home and car were destroyed.

    The man is in custody.
