McAdenville makes Christmas special for many

MCADENVILLE, N.C. — As usual, many people worked Christmastown USA into their plans Tuesday.

Families from all over the country waited in traffic backed up for miles to check out McAdenville's light display. They drove and walked with Santa hats and cameras.

While Jennifer Hallmark had been there before, her relatives-- in from Asheville and Memphis-- had not. So this was a must. She said, "This is awesome."

No one seemed too young to appreciate it. Mike Croche said his 1-year-old daughter, "Loves Christmas lights. She drives down the road just saying, 'Christmas lights, Christmas lights.'"

The Maes brought their grandchildren, but enjoyed it plenty themselves. Fannie Mae said, "Everybody's saying Merry Christmas to you so it makes you feel real good."

You still have one more chance to see the display. Wednesday is the last day.
