Mecklenburg County, Huntersville pass 'Brunch Bill'

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Mecklenburg County and Huntersville leaders cleared the way Tuesday for the “Brunch Bill” to take effect.

During a special meeting, Huntersville leaders approved the measure, which allows stores and restaurants to serve alcohol at 10 a.m. on Sundays rather than 12 p.m.

But the vote will only impact the unincorporated parts of the county.

The Charlotte City Council will have to pass its own ordinance. That could happen later this month.
